We're asking you to pay what you can - we suggest a donation of £5, though it's a minimum of just £1 to access the online recording. If you can afford to spend more, you'll be really helping to support The Roaring Girls, and that money will be invested in our future work.

However much you donate - thank you - we hope you enjoy watching the show as much as we enjoyed making and performing it! And don't forget to let us know what you think: @theroaringgirls #BeachBodyReady

We're delighted to bring this to you with the help of the amazing Fly Girl Films,

filmed at the fabulous East Riding Theatre!

What to expect...

Never watched an online theatre show before or worried about the subject matter? We’ve got you.

Here’s what to expect from Beach Body Ready...

Tickets will be available via Eventbrite and will be on a pay what you can basis with a suggested donation of £5. The show will be available to watch until the 1st of September.

Getting tickets:

1.  Click on the "Watch Beach Body Ready" button at the top of this page, or the link on any of our socials to access Eventbrite. You'll need to provide an email address and buy a ticket (pay what you can - any amount from £1 up).

2. You will be emailed a private YouTube link to watch the show on your smartphone, tablet, laptop or tv. Simply click the link to watch just like you would any other YouTube video. If you struggle to access it, let us know and we can help out!

3. Please don't share the link with anyone else, it helps us track how many people have watched!

Watching the show:

1. You will meet Sarah, Jess & Rachael, the three actors who will be playing themselves. They’ll be talking directly to the camera and if you want, you can talk back, but we can’t hear you this time!

2. PLEASE WHOOP AND CHEER AT HOME!

3. Some of the topics in the show are a bit sensitive, and we talk about eating disorders, dieting, bullying and mental health. If you’re a bit worried about these topics, let us know privately and we can help tell you which bits you might want to skip.

4. If you are affected by any of the topics in the show, we have a link to a directory below with places you can find support.

5. We hope you enjoy it as much as we’ve enjoyed making it. Please let us know what you thought! Use #BeachBodyReady, tag us in your pics, and tell your friends!

ABOUT THE SHOW

It’s the season of cutting carbs, hitting it hard at the gym and shaving everything from the chin down. Summer has rocked up and coerced us all into thinking about how awful our bodies are. We’ve been shamed, dehumanised and humiliated for how we look, and we’ve had enough.

Beach Body Ready sees The Roaring Girls smash their way though ingrained fears, food insecurities, and toxic advertising in this defiantly feel good show which sticks two fingers up to everything the media says we should look like.

Created in The Roaring Girls' semi-improvised style, Beach Body Ready blends impassioned rants with cheesy fitness routines, and live, informal chats with a beach trip on film, accompanied by a banging soundtrack.

Alongside the making of the show, we spoke to lots of women about their experiences with their bodies, and we've commissioned and collated an awesome zine filled with stories, poems, and artwork, and a directory of suggested books, shows, and people to follow! Check them out:

Beach Body Ready is made by The Roaring Girls in association with Hull Truck Theatre, Absolutely Cultured, and The Pleasance, with support from House, In Good Company, and Waterside Arts Centre.
